Pre-Christmas Book Signings

A River of StonesElizabeth spent three mornings in December singning copies of “Barking At Nothing” at her local branch of Gymophobics.  This was a very rewarding and worthwhile few days and resulted in the sale of several copies of the book, which will benefit her chosen charity – The Donna Louise Trust.

A new book is planned for this year, incorporating the poetry of her late Uncle, Jack Williamson.  Some of Jack’s poems can be found at http://jackspoems.wordpress.com

If you wish to read some of Elizabeth’s recent work she will be participating in the International Small Stones Writing Month during January 2011.  Her “Small Stone” blog can be found at http://bythewobblydumdumtree.wordpress.com.  Please do look in and see what it is all aboutand leave a comment if you like what you see.

Leek Book Signing

Leek Shop Window Display The current series of Book Signing sessions for “Barking At Nothing” held at the Donna Louise Trust Charity Shops was concluded last week, Sturday 3rd July at the Leek shop.

This was not quite as successful as the previous signing sessions but a few copies of the book were sold and several people expressed an interest so may buy at a later date. As with the other shops a few copies were left at the shop for over the counter sales and leaflets advertising the book are also available.

The picture is of the Leek shop window advertising  the fact that the Book Signing session is taking place. There were more balloons pinned up at first but the wind decided to help itself to them! I hope some deserving child found them and got some enjoyment from them.

Further opportunities for sales of the book are still being arranged so please check out our News page from time to time for further details.

Eccleshall Festival Street Market

 Street Market Stall
The Eccleshall Festival Street Market last Saturday was great fun. It was a lovely warm day with just enough breeze to keep it from being too hot.

Plenty of people visited the street market and came over to the stall to see what was on offer. There was much interest and several copies of  “Barking At Nothing” were sold, which is great news for The Donna Louise Trust.

The photograph, taken just before the official opening of the event, is of Elizabeth Leaper with fellow local author Bob Stewart who was  sharing the stall to sell copies of his gothic teen-fiction book “The Devil’s Creature in the City of the Dead”. Bob was also making a donation to the charity on this occasion. The event was to be fancy dress so please forgive the bow tie and silly hats!

Book Signings

Book Signing in Hanley Charity ShopSo far two out of the three scheduled  Book Signing sessions in the Donna Louise Trust Charity shops have  been completed. Both sessions, in the Stone shop and the Hanley shop, were good fun, there was much interest  and several copies of the book were sold.

The photograph here is of Elizabeth signing a book at the Hanley shop.

The third scheduled session takes place this coming Saturday, 3rd July in the shop in Leek. We look forward to meeting as many people as possible there and making further sales in support of the Donna Louise Trust.
